New Delhi: Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash alleged that he was manhandled by two AAP lawmakers at Chief Minister’s official residence. The Aam Aadmi Party and the Chief Minister’s Office have refuted the allegations, calling them “bizarre” and have asked for an “independent” probe.
The alleged incident took place last night in the presence of Mr. Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Anshu Prakash was called by Arvind Kejriwal to discuss the issue of advertisements, which were not being released, an official said. However, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed he had been called for a discussion on rations. The Aam Aadmi Party, in a statement, denied that the assault had occurred.Chief Secy refused to answer questions, saying he wasn’t answerable to MLAs & the CM, and that he was answerable only to LG. He used bad language against some MLAs & left without answering any question. Now he’s making ludicrous allegations. However on the basis of Anshu Prakash’s complaint FIR lodged under Sections 186 (obstructing a public servant from performing the duty), 353 (assaulting a public servant), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342, 504, 506(2) & 120b & 34,
Anshu Prakash on Tuesday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi in connection with the incident of alleged misbehavior with Mr. Prakash by two Aam Aadmi Party MLAs at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. ”I am deeply pained by the happenings involving the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government. The civil servants should be allowed to work with dignity and without fear,” Mr. Singh told reporters here. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also sought a report on the incident from Lt Governor Anil Baijal.Justice will be done. A delegation of IAS Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service and Subordinate Services of Delhi Government met me and apprised me of the prevailing situation,” Mr. Singh said. The meeting comes in the wake of the announcement by the Indian Administrative Service Association that ”in public interest” Delhi Government officers and staff will continue to work in their offices, but no officer will attend meeting beyond office hours, till effective action is taken against all those involved in the alleged misbehavior with Mr. Prakash.
Meanwhile, the political mudslinging has already begun with BJP and Congress demanding that Kejriwal resigns from the post of Delhi Chief Minister.
